Meet Harlan Ray
Harlan Ray’s love for the outdoors began as a young boy fishing in stock tanks and feeding cattle off the back of a truck at his grandfather’s ranch near Valley Mills. Growing up in Dallas, Ray was constantly looking for ways to quench his passion for fresh air, grand vistas, and fiery sunsets. Hunting dove in West Texas, stalking deer in the Hill Country and working cattle all over the state fueled his fervent love for the natural and diverse beauty of Texas—and all our great state has to offer.
Prior to joining Briggs Freeman Sotheby’s International Realty, Ray worked for his father at Robert Ray Realty L.L.C. where he focused on land and ranch sales, as well as commercial transactions and tenant representation. He also worked for his grandfather in the oil and gas industry. Ray graduated from Trinity Christian Academy and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Speech Communication from Baylor University, and is a licensed Real Estate Broker in Texas.
He is an active member of Park Cities Baptist Church, Buckaroo Bible Study, Baylor Bear Foundation, Baylor Alumni Association. Professional associations include the Texas Real Estate Commission and MetroTex Association of Realtors. Passion for the outdoor lifestyle led him to be on the founding committee of a Texas Parks and Wildlife group known “Stewards of the Wild,” where he serves as an events chair.
Ray and his wife, Melissa, love travelling the world together as much as they can. You also, might find him riding his horse named “Bosque”—with his border collie tagging along. A sports enthusiast, Ray enjoys water-skiing, wakeboarding, fly-fishing, and watching any and all Baylor sports. He is also an accomplished guitar player. But his favorite pastime is spending time with friends—grilling steaks, talking about life and enjoying each other’s company. Add fireflies, an evening breeze and cattle lowing in the distance—and, well, life doesn’t get much better than that.
